Elaine McMillion Sheldon | Director and Producer
Sheldon is an Academy Award-nominated director and producer based in West Virginia. She’s the director of “Heroin(e),” an 2018 Oscar-nominated short documentary, and “Hollow,” a 2013 interactive documentary that received a Peabody award, Emmy nomination and 3rd Prize in the World Press Photo Multimedia Awards. Sheldon was named one of the “25 New Faces of Independent Film” by Filmmaker Magazine and is a founding member of All Y’all Southern Documentary Collective. She has been commissioned by Frontline PBS, The Center for Investigative Reporting, New York Times Op-Docs, TEDWomen, Field of Vision, among others.
Curren Sheldon | Director of Photography and Producer
Sheldon is an Academy Award-nominated director and cinematographer based in West Virginia. His work has been commissioned and featured by The New York Times, Mashable, The Center for Investigative Reporting, Outside Magazine, and Great Big Story, among others. He is a member of All Y’all Southern Documentary Collective and currently in production on several documentary projects across Central Appalachia.
Penelope Falk | Editor
Falk is an award-winning editor with over 15 years of documentary experience. She’s the editor of “Step”, which won a Special Jury Award at Sundance, and “Bright Lights: Starring Carrie Fisher and Debbie Reynolds”, which premiered at Cannes and was broadcast on HBO. Other editing credits include “Maidentrip” (SXSW Audience Award 2013) and “Joan Rivers: A Piece of Work” (Sundance Excellence in Editing Award 2010).
Kristi Jacobson | Producer
Jacobson is an award-winning producer and director. Her film, “A Place at the Table” (Participant Media/Magnolia Pictures), was called “one of the most important…and gripping non-fiction films to debut in some time” by Indiewire. Jacobson has been featured in publications including The New York Times, The Wall Street Journal, The Los Angeles Times, The Guardian, Vanity Fair, Filmmaker Magazine, and Time Magazine. Jacobson is a member of the Director’s Guild of America, NYWIFT, and a two-time Sundance Creative Producing Fellow.
Daniel Hart | Composer
Hart is a composer and performer based in Los Angeles. He has scored a dozen feature films over the past few years, including Disney’s 2016 reimagining of “Pete’s Dragon”, and 2017’s breakout “A Ghost Story,” and “Ain’t Them Bodies Saints.” Daniel composed the music for this year’s podcast “S-Town”, as well as the first season of Fox’s “The Exorcist.” He recently worked on the documentary “Eating Animals”, based on Jonathan Safron Foer’s bestselling book of the same name.
